The MAC Oval 6 brush is part of the MAC masterclass brush collection. In total there are three brushes in this collection; the Oval 6, Oval 3 and Linear 1. You may or may not have seen these types of brushes around, as they appear to becoming very popular, and for that reason alone I had to see what all the fuss was about.
From what I have gathered these types of brushes have been designed for the main purpose of applying your own make-up – as normal brushes are usually designed with a make-up artist in mind. Although saying this I have seen these types of the brushes being used by make-up artists in different videos on Instagram.
Firstly, to describe this brush I feel it gives a very soft, smooth and comfortable application. With the brush head itself having quite solid and tight bristles, which together make it quite compact and dense.
Using this brush I find it to actually be very good: applying a liquid foundation is a lot smoother, with the foundation itself seeming to blend into the skin rather than just sitting on the surface as some sometimes can. I have also found this brush to work very well when considering waste, as I find it does not soak up any product.
Overall I find this brush to blend extremely smooth and even. The coverage you can achieve with this brush is dependable, as you can get a very light coverage but then with applying a bit more of the foundation you can work it up to a more medium coverage.I really like this brush and actually find it very easy and fairly quick to apply my foundation with. It is quite costly at £34.50 but with that you are paying for the quality and the MAC brand name.
