A little while ago I was in my local Boots store, to which I found the Infallible collection by LÓréal cosmetics. Now personally I always seem to go for higher-end foundation products – which I know makes no sense at all as I love drugstore make-up and find that a lot of the time their quality is as good as a more expensive brand! However with being in Boots at the time and with seeing this new collection I thought it was about time I started to broaden my foundation buying and using horizon!!
and so that is what I did..
LÓréal Infallible 24H Liquid Foundation – in the shade: 015 Porcelain
This foundation is in my opinion a really good drugstore product. To apply this I use either my MAC Oval 6 brush or the RealTechniques expert face brush, with then finally dabbing over my foundation with a beautyblender to ensure an even and well blended complexion. I find this foundation to give a good medium coverage, as it has a fairly thick formula it isn’t as such build-able but you can get away with a few extra dabs here and there. One thing I am very impressed with about this product is the shade matching; as often I find with drugstore foundations in particular
they can be a little to dark or orange’y for paler skin but this is a perfect match to a very fair skin tone!
LÓréal Infallible 24H Matte Powder – in the shade: 123 Warm Vanilla
Matching with the liquid foundation is the matte powder, with this one being in the shade: 123 warm vanilla – I always like to go for a powder slightly more warmer than the liquid foundation to add a hint of warmth into my skin tone.
I decided to pick up the powder as often I like to put on a light layer of a powder foundation to ensure a full coverage and to also set my face base make-up at the same time. Now I definitely wouldn’t say you could get away with wearing just this alone! (Unless you have remarkably flawless skin), but with applying this on top of the liquid foundation I feel it adds more coverage and takes away that shiny finish that may be on your skin.
LÓréal Infallible Fixing Mist
I always find the use of a face mist, fixing or setting spray helpful; whether that be before applying your foundation, in the middle of or at the very end. This fixing spray is in my opinion a very good drugstore match, as it really does hydrate the skin during the application of the liquid foundation and with that makes it easier to blend the foundation leaving it smooth and even on the skin. At the same time it is also a fairly good setting spray, with enabling my make-up all over my face to last for longer throughout the day.
As drugstore make-up goes I have definitely been impressed with the quality and results of each and every product within this post, therefore I would with a doubt recommend for those that like a thicker liquid foundation to try of course the infallible foundation and for then those that like a light powder and fixing spray to complete their look with the two other products mentioned!
