Kissing goodbye to yet another month, it’s time to reflect on what products I have been using a lot of, and with that ones that I have been enjoying using this past month.
To kick things off I’m going to go straight in with two mascara’s that I have found to be reaching for a lot of the time during March:
Smashbox X-Rated Mascara
The Smashbox X-Rated mascara is a product that I have already reviewed here on my blog, which you can read here, if you are interested. I picked up this mascara in a fairly large Boots haul at the beginning of March, this was advertised as a new product and I have to say that I had certainly never heard of it before. This mascara, in my opinion glides onto the lashes effortlessly, with really achieving a volumized and lengthly look. Plus I find that the lighter you hold this mascara when applying, the smoother it actually goes onto your lashes and the neater it appears too.
LÓréal False Lash Sculpt Mascara
You may, or may not have seen this mascara advertised and spoken about already, but I also purchased this during that fairly large Boots haul at the beginning of March. This mascara again glides onto the lashes really easily and smoothly. It builds up to quite a thick volumized look pretty quickly, with actually you only needing to apply perhaps two layers at the most.
NYX Micro Brow Pencil
In the shade: Brunette
Smaller and more precise brow pencils are generally products that I prefer to go for, as my brows are quite sparse in areas I like to have that precision with making sure that I don’t end up with ‘slugs’ above my eyes. I have in the past tried similar products to this from such brands as; Urban Decay and Anastasia Beverly Hills. After purchasing a few NYX products a little while ago, with this being one of them I have to say that I find this to be quality and application wise exactly the same as those more expensive brands that I mentioned earlier. Therefore I would definitely recommend this as a slightly cheaper dupe to those more expensive precise brow pencils.
Smashbox (15 Hour Wear) Cream Shadow
In the shade: Quartz
I managed to pick this up from The Cosmetics Company Store (Bicester designer shopping outlet) a little while ago. I have found myself using this a lot during March, as it gives a really pretty champagne pink colour to the eye lids, with also having a gorgeous metallic flecked finish. To apply this well pigmented and creamy eyeshadow I actually find using my finger is the best application, as it blends really nicely and just brightens up a pink eye look really well.
Spectrum Angled Powder Brushes
Spectrum collections have some of the prettiest brushes around! I was lucky enough to attend the Clothes Show last December to which Spectrum had a stall. Whilst being there I managed to pick up a few of their brush collections. These two brushes are actually from their Siren collection, but I just love how these two brushes apply my bronzer, contour powder and even blush! They hold the powder really well, with blending it really evenly and smoothly on the areas of my face that I want it to. They are also really soft and since owning them I can’t say I have noticed any shedding.
LÓréal Matte Max Oops (in the shade: 004 pink it again)
Surprise surprise another product from that large Boots haul..
More recently I have seen these lip products being spoken and pictured a lot more, but I just find to really like this – which is mostly for the fact that this is sooo long lasting! The application is a little strange as with it being quite rounded in shape it does make you slightly hesitant when applying it around the edges of your lips, but this is something that takes time and practise. When I wear this I actually find to like applying this on the middle part of my lips with then using a creamy lipstick over the top to blend the colour out. If I had to think of a negative towards this lip product it would have to be that this is quite drying on the lips but never the less a really good product.
Nivea Fruity Shine (Watermelon) Lip Balm
You may, or may not have read about this lip balm in my ‘Top 5 lip balms‘ post from last week. I really like this lip balm as it gives my lips a coating of moisture with a light muted pink colouring which is all completed with a light watermelon flavouring and scent!
Galaxy Golden Eggs & Bonne Maman Chocolate Mousse
Including food and goodies in a monthly favourites post seems to becoming quite a favourite in the blogging world. I am all for trying new chocolate & sweeties (well anything yummy tasting in general really), so am happy to continue to share these yummy treats with my readers. I have been really enjoying the Bonne Maman chocolate mousse’s (that I found in Tesco) this past month, they are incredibly creamy and thick and just chocolatey goodness really! Next, as we have just past Easter it would be unfair of me not to mention and give credit to these gorgeous Golden eggs treats from Galaxy.
