August 2016 Favourites

Welcome September.. A time within the year when fake tanning is a little less of a necessity and light, cut-out tops turn into snuggly, cosy jumpers. I’m definitely looking forward to those colder days, when you can wrap up warm in a scarf and a pair of gloves and stick on a good pair of chunky but comfortable boots! Plus, there’s Autumnal make-up looks and long, hot evening baths to look forward to!

During the month of August, Jellybluesblog has seen two new exciting food styled blogposts, a huge ColourPop haul and an array of some really lovely products which just so happen to have recently hit our shelfs! I have also shared some helpful tips to hopefully help with both anxiety & panic attacks and there is a fun blogpost sharing my day out at Chatsworth House. With saying goodbye to yet another month within the year of 2016, I wanted to capture my beauty highlights and share with you all the beauty products that I’ve happily been using within the month of August, and so here they are.

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

I’ve owned this setting spray by Urban Decay for absolutely ages but it hasn’t really been until the last 6 weeks till I’ve really used a setting spray everyday at the end of doing my make-up. I’m really enjoying using this particular setting spray, as firstly I feel it does the job it’s supposed to – I’ve never been one of those for touching up my make-up as the day goes on – I’m definitely more of a put it on once and only once type of girl, so a setting spray for me is a very helpful and useful product indeed. This setting spray itself gives a very comfortable, fine mist which drys very quickly once on the skin and leaves it really quite hydrated to.

Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray

Skincare is something that I’m gaining more knowledge about and becoming more comfortable using and applying. This is a B6 vitamin-infused complexion spray that can either be used before make-up as a prep spray, during the day or even at the end of the day to refresh skin. I’ve been really liking this product as it has a nice scent and it leaves my skin feeling hydrated, ready and prepared.

Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Wipes

For those lazier evenings – which embarrassingly I do have to say happen quite often, I like to use a make-up wipe to remove my make-up. A little while ago now, I discovered in Boots that Garnier had brought out a micellar oil-infused cleansing wipe to remove make-up, including waterproof mascara. As personally my skin is quite dry and also sensitive, the fact that these wipes are infused with nourishing oils and for dry/sensitive skin appealed to me hugely! Each time I’ve taken my make-up off with a wipe, I’ve been using these cleansing wipes by Garnier, as they take make-up off easily and carefully with-out leaving your eyes feeling irritated or having a stinging burning sensation as of the liquid inside the wipe.

Fudge Urban Iced Raspberry & Vanilla Hair Spray

You heard me… an iced raspberry & vanilla scented hair spray! Need I say no more?

This hair spray smells absolutely delicious, with it also lightly protecting hair with a fine, non-sticky mist. I like this hairspray as it’s workable, meaning I can brush my hair and also restyle it. I mean, this hair spray won’t hold a curled masterpiece but for your normal everyday hair, I’d say it’s pretty perfect.

Joico Daily Care, Leave-In Detangler Spray
for all hair types

(Confession time).. I’ve not been loving this product though-out the month of August, I’ve been loving this product through-out the months of May, June, July AND August!! It’s amazing! My hair usually once out of the shower is very cotty, very tangled and a damn right pain to brush through wet. I simply spray 2-3 spritz of this product over my entire head and hey presto! my hair brushes through nice and smooth.

Benefit Gimme Brow
in the shade: One

After first trying this product in the form of a mini sample, I rediscovered my love for the GimmeBrow by Benefit. This GimmeBrow in particular is from their new, redesigned and recently released collection, which made the GimmeBrow available in a lighter brunette shade. I’ve been using this product more or less each day during the month of August, as I love the petite size of the spoolie applicator because it brushes through the brows precisely and neatly. I also like this product, as if my brows are still a little sparse, this product with fill in those areas with a quick drying and well-pigmented formula.

Maybelline Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick

Again a product that I’ve not been using all that long BUT since gaining the beautiful Artis Oval 7 brush in my life, I’m now sweeping contour sticks left, right and centre. This contour stick is very handy, as it has both the contour cream and highlight cream in one and also (most importantly) they blend well, they don’t appear cakey and applied rightly they give good structure to the face.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer
in the shade: Dark Brown

Isn’t it strange as when I first tried this product I found to absolutely hate it but now, after giving it a second whirl, I instead absolutely love it! It has a creamy, soft and smooth formula which makes filling in sparse brows very simple to do.

Artis Oval 7 Make-Up Brush

How could I not mention this brush?!
Okay, so admittingly I haven’t been using this particular brush throughout the entire month of August but I have been using it though-out the last two weeks of the month and I absolutely love it!

If you haven’t read my review on this brush already.. then please read it here and don’t forget to leave me a lovely comment below!

Those are the products that I was loving during August, what were yours?!

Thank you!

I’m obsessed with the All Nighter Setting Spray and I’ve just bought my third bottle. It’s definitely the best setting spray I’ve ever used. And Gimme Brow has definitely been one of my recent favourites too and I don’t want to run out (simply so I don’t have to spend £18 on a tiny tube of it)!

My goodness, you are obsessed! 🙂 but then I can totally see why! It’s a good’n. I know what you mean, it’s a tiny product but to be honest I’ve always found them to last well x
