bareMinerals Invisible Light Powder Duo

bareMinerals Invisible Light Powder Duo

Around a month ago, I purchased the Invisible Light Powder Duo by bareMinerals.

This powder duo is quite a newish product and with me finally coming to a conclusion as to what I think of it, I thought I would place all of my thoughts within one blogpost, to hopefully help some of you out, as you may be considering buying it!

This duo has two translucent powders. One is a matte, oil-absorbing powder and the other is a sheer, illuminating powder which is perfect for both highlighting and strobing.

When first using this product, I have to admit my thoughts were a little skeptical. As I didn’t really see the point to it. The matte shade, which I used all over my face after applying a liquid foundation, didn’t show as such on my skin nor did it really conceal and improve any imperfections. Along with this, I also found the glow powder to be very subtle in pigmentation and with that it to be a very weak highlighter for the top of the cheekbones. I did however, plough through (as they say) and continue to use this powder duo.

L-R: Matte – Glow

After a couple of weeks, I’ve now found the best and most effective way to use this duo.

I use the matte powder underneath my eyes and usually on top of any concealer in which I’ve applied. By lightly brushing over this powder, I find it keeps my concealer and under eye area from creasing and just overall it to make my make-up appear a lot fresher and cleaner. I’ve also found using a setting powder really helps aid the length of wear of your make-up, which is of course a huge positive!

As for the glow powder – which is my personal favourite out of the two! I like to use this under my brow arches, along my nose, on the top of my cupids bow and dabbed on my inner corners too. I find this product works really well for adding a natural glow of light to the skin, as it isn’t all that pigmented, the powder appears a lot more natural and much more subtle. To apply, I like using a large fluffy shadow brush, as then I am able to achieve a much more natural and almost healthy looking glow.

In all, I like this product and actually my feelings have definitely changed since first using it! I mean, I find myself using it everyday without thinking – for that glow powder especially, as I really like the natural light that the glow powder gives my skin and I find it works well for both casual looks and slightly more ‘dressed up’ looks too. As to the packaging, I am very impressed. The size of each powder is very descent and extremely fair when compared to its retail price.

What do you think to this product?

Thank you!

I love the packaging for the size of the powders! and I must admit, the pigmentation of the powders is quite subtle, as it’s more of a natural glow than a striking highlight! 🙂 xx
