October’s up, and Halloweens gone, bonfire night is approaching and Christmas is coming along. This year is flying by so quickly, that’s its almost difficult to stop and take everything in. I can’t believe we’ve reached November, I mean, where has the year gone?!
During October, I really liked more gold, bronzy eyes and an Autumnal red’y, plum toned lip, but overall here are the products that I was mostly using and enjoying through the month of October.
Revlon | Diamond Collection Eyelash Curlers
I spotted these eyelash curlers in a Superdrug store a little while ago. I now use eyelash curlers each day (when putting on make-up), and actually notice quite a bit of difference in the appearance of my lashes after using them. These curlers add a good curve to my lashes and actually elongate them slightly; by giving a lengthier appearance. I also find applying mascara to be a lot more smoother after using eyelash curlers, but perhaps that could just be me?!
Make Up For Ever | HD Setting Powder
I’ve seen YouTubers ‘baking’ their under-eye areas after concealer for absolutely ages, and for SO long I didn’t see the point or fascination. Then I attended the ‘Beauty Show’ at the NEC Birmingham earlier this year, and there purchased this HD Setting Powder by Make Up For Ever.
This product is, and I kid you not, an absolute under-eye life saver!!! I use this straight after applying and blending in my concealer, by dabbing my damp BeautyBlender or blending sponge into the powder (in the lid), and then lightly dabbing it under my under eyes. I let this ‘bake’ for around a minute in time and then using a large fluffy powder brush sweep under my eyes to remove any excess white powder. This product smooths out my under-eye area, blends in my concealer and conceals any creases or imperfections made by the foundation or concealer I first used.
Marc Jacobs | Wow Defining Longwear Eyebrow Pencil
Not only is this a MARC JACOBS eyebrow pencil, but it’s also an amazing product to use and wear. The defining and petite little crayon like nib, is well pigmented and applies the brow product smoothly and evenly through the brows. It fills, shapes and lines sparse brows very well and is just overall a really good product to use.
TooFaced | Better Than Sex Mascara
When I first tried this mascara, I disliked it. I found the brush head to be too big, but also to be quite awkward to hold and apply mascara neatly. Then out of the blue, I decided to dig it out of my mascara collection and give it another go, and since then I’ve been using it more or less everyday. I love the thickness that it gives my lashes, but also the curve and OF COURSE the length. The formula is comfortable to wear – as I have sensitive eyes I have to watch which mascaras I use, but this doesn’t irritate nor make my eyes water… making it a winner for me!
Marc Jacobs | Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Primer
Anyone who’s beauty obsessed has seen or heard of this primer before. Whether you’ve noticed it on a YouTuber’s channel or came across it whilst scrolling through on Sephora’s website. This primer has been compared to the TooFaced Hangover Primer, with a lot of people saying that this in actual fact is just more of an expensive version, BUT in all honestly, I beg to differ.
I find this primer to be thinner in consistency and texture, as this melts and absorbs into the skin a lot smoother and quicker. This primer also feels a lot more hydrating in finish.
Tarte | Rainforest of the Sea Aqua Concealer
An old favourite made it’s way out of my concealer collection at the start of October, with that being of course; the Rainforest of the Sea Aqua Concealer by Tarte.
This concealer gives a beautiful coverage, with it lightening the under-eye area perfectly, and blending into the skin effortlessly.
Prada | Candy Florale Eau De Toilette
Okay, so this isn’t just an October favourite, as I love and wear this perfume all year though! It just smells absolutely divine, that I couldn’t not share it with you all.
The scent is florally but also quite sweet, and to be perfectly honest I ABSOLUTELY love it!
Sally Hansen | Hard As Wraps Nail Hardener
If your like me and have quite thin, weak nails than this is going to be a product that you want to look at. The consistency of the formula is almost like a glue but it sets fairly hard and really prevents your nails from breaking, splitting or becoming damaged through everyday life.
TooFaced | Born this Way Foundation
Again, when I first purchased this foundation, I disliked it. I found the formula to be to thick and the finish to ‘cakey’ looking, but THEN I went out and purchased the Artis Oval 7 Brush – and found the pair to actually be a pair made in heaven.
