Are they worth the hype?!
YAY or NAY…
If there’s one thing that brings a beauty lovers bank accont balance to an all-time low, it’s falling into the trap and giving into purchasing THAT one beauty product that EVERYONE’S talking about!
There’s dozen of them, from the Champagne Pop highlighter by Becca cosmetics, to NARS Sheer Glow… us make-up loving junkies, literally, can’t get enough of them. Which is why I’ve raided my own make-up stash, and brought together my own conclusion, on these possibly over-hyped beauty goodies.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation – YAY
I LOVE my NARS Sheer Glow foundation with a passion. It blends effortlessly, giving me a beautiful, dewy coverage that just makes me feel a lot more comfortable and confident in my own skin. It evens out my skin tone and skin texture, and really covers little imperfections well. It’s a foundation that I know I can rely on, and always turn to for a more special occasion; for when I want my skin to look it’s best.
Champagne Pop by Becca Cosmetics – YAY
This highlighter is bright, very well pigmented and very pretty, and I like this product as you can build up it’s intensity with applying a little more or alternatively you can softly brush a small amount for a much more subtle and everyday look. The shade overall is again absolutely divine. As the sheer, glowing powder enhances your features with a gorgeous burnt (golden) champagne colour.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – NAY
This primer has been sweeping the beauty world for a long, long time, and it wasn’t until only recently that I really took the plunge and brought this product to try out for myself.
It’s a nice primer, don’t get me wrong, it blends out fairly well, the packagings nice and it makes applying an actual eyeshadow a lot more easier to do, BUT I can’t call it an necessity in my own make-up routine nor would I repurchase it, so for that reason, I have to say that in my opinion this is an over-hyped product.
theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter – YAY
Another highlighter that possibly every beauty lover owns, is Mary-Lou Manizer by theBalm. This highlighter has a gorgeous light champagne shade that really is VERY pigmented! Once swept onto the skin it appears very beautiful, as it also glistens in natural sunlight.
MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot (Shade: Painterly) – YAY
I LOVE this product, as it’s literally changed how I do my eye make-up in the mornings. It has a thick, creamy formula which once blended over the eyelids (using your finger), really settles and covers up any veins or redness. It also enhances the eyeshadow that you then put on, prevents it from creasing and just makes it last for so much longer than it normally would!
MAC Fix+ Spray – NAY
Perhaps I just like setting sprays, I mean, I enjoy finishing off my make-up with a few spritz of a finishing spray that I have to hand. I just don’t see what everyone else see’s with this product?! I don’t see where it pro longs my make-up or where it really refreshes and hydrates my skin. Of course, I will use this product until it’s completely empty, but I doubt I’ll ever repurchase it, so for that reason, I had to call it an over-hyped beauty product.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow – YAY
When you think of brow gel or dipbrow what’s the first brand that honestly comes to mind..? For me, it’s Anastasia Beverly Hills, which may not actually be because it’s the best there is, but when dip brows are concerned, this ones a keeper. It has a smooth, rich and creamy formula which fills and shapes sparse or full brows very well indeed.
Benefit Gimme Brow – YAY
Perhaps this isn’t a hyped-up product, I don’t know for sure, but I see a lot of people talking about it all the time, so I thought I should better mention it, just to be on the safe side.
This is my favourite brow mascara out there! It’s easy and precise to use and coats each one of my brow hairs lovely!
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer – YAY
An Urban Decay product that actually I couldn’t live without is the Naked Skin Concealer. It has a beautiful, light, silky and sort of creamy formula that blends effortlessly, brightens the skin and covers imperfections or blemishes well.
To be continued…
What are your thoughts on these hyped-up products, do you have some others that perhaps you’d like to share?!
