It feels like an eternity since I’ve written up a beauty favourites post! Even though I only technically declared my entire beauty favourites from 2016 a short time ago. In fact all of the products which are featured in my ‘Ultimate 2016 Beauty Favourites‘ still stand, as I’m still utterly in love with each one of them. HOWEVER there’s been a few new purchases since, and (happily) I have a few new favourites to add to my (ever growing) collection, so I thought I’d share those with you all today.
LÓRÉAL Elvive Colour Protect Low Shampoo
Without a doubt, I over-wash my hair. I know I do BUT washing ones hair is such a refreshing thing to do – it makes me feel cleaner, more awake and more ready for the day ahead.
Before finding Low Shampoo, I washed my hair more or less each day with a typical moisture enriched shampoo & conditioner (designed for both dry and coloured hair). Although this isn’t entirely a good thing to do for your hair, it’s not disastrous and my hair has never actually become more damaged from over-washing it. Never the less, over-washing does concern me, and when I can I like to leave of the shampoo & conditioner. Finding this product has been a life changer for me, as now I don’t feel as bad when I step into the shower to wash my hair yet again.
This is an all in one product, meaning it cleanses hair with a gentle cream, removing impurities whilst also conditioning your hair. It’s also great to use on a busy morning, as literally you pump (around 15 pumps) off this onto your hand, message it in and give it a couple of minutes and then wash it off!
I had to include this in this months favourites, as I’ve really been enjoying using it. It keeps my colour looking shiny, healthy and clean, with also ensuring that my hair stays soft and smooth.
LÓRÉAL Elvive Extraordinary Oil
I’ve been all about LÓRÉAL recently. With using a combination of the Colour Protect Low Shampoo, the Colour Protect Care Shampoo & Conditioner and the matching masque, I also decided to give the Extraordinary Oil ago too.
I’ve been using this each and every time I’ve washed my hair. With pumping three pumps into the palm of my hand and then rubbing my hands together, I then gently work the oil through my hair (mid-length to ends) and follow with a heat protection spray. I find this oil really helps to smooth out any frizz, along with also ensuring that all of those sticky up (damaged) hairs stay sleek and smooth. I love the scent of this oil, as it leaves a really nice smell on my hair which lasts for a good amount of time too!
KIKO Blush & Bronzer
On Boxing Day I FINALLY visited the KIKO store in Birmingham (near the Bullring). I’d heard SO MANY people rate KIKO Cosmetics high, and I was desperate to give some of there products a try!
I am SO impressed with these two products, especially as they’re fairly affordable in price too. I mean, they each blend beautifully – they appear natural but pretty on the skin and they build in colour effortlessly.
Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede Cologne
You may (or may not) have read my recent post featuring this cologne by Jo Malone.
This is just the MOST perfect scent for me… AND if I was designing a scent this would come VERY close to my ultimate creation!
I love using this on those days when I’m a little more dressed up, when I want to feel good about myself and if I’m going somewhere descent.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
A short time ago I visited London (for the #GoGlamGala blogger event), and whilst there me and my friend had a little mooch around the shops near our hotel. In one of the shops there was a NARS make-up counter, which is always a delight for me as there’s not one in the city where I live! Meaning, if I want anything by NARS then it’s usually…. ‘online only’.
When looking around the counter, the Radiant Creamy Concealer caught my attention – and with my friend telling me how good this concealer is supposed to be, I HAD to give it a try (for my blog of course?!).
Since then I’ve used this concealer EVERYDAY! It has quite a thick consistency, which isn’t particularly liquid’y either. I mean, it is a liquid formula BUT it’s VERY creamy too! I really like this concealer under my eyes, as I find it to really brighten my under eye area well. If there’s one negative that I have to state, then I’d to say that this does crease quite easily – so you have to set it well.
Stila Eyes Are The Window Soul Palette
Last on the list is the one palette that I’ve been addicted to recently!
The ‘Soul’ palette by Stila, just holds so many beautiful colours, which each compliment one another and match together
