*Confession time. I’ve been meaning to get this review written up and published for a little while now, as this has been a found favourite of mine for a good few weeks. BUT regardless of my time keeping, I would like you to know that this is one of my favourite mascaras and because of that, I really wanted to share it with you all now.
This mascara has been designed to give lashes the look of two coats of mascara in just one, and with the unique double-sided curved brush, it’s also suppose to give lashes a good curl, a generous length, with just a touch of volume.
The special double-sided brush applicator is also said to apply the formula generously without risking touching the lid or clumping the lashes – which I have to say is an amazing factor (if true). On top of this the formula is described as ‘revolutionary’, as it supposedly won’t flake nor clump.
Around February time, I picked this mascara up from Space N K, as I really liked the sound of the description and the appearance of some people’s lashes after applying it. With this, I was also slightly desperate to see what all the fuss was about over Kevyn Aucoin, as I’ve been hearing beauty influencers raving about this brand for a very long time, and this would in fact be my first Kevyn Aucoin product to buy and try!
At first sight, I must say that I pleasantly surprised, as this mascara is packaged nicely in a metallic light gold tube.
There’s then also some clear text on the front, which tells the name of this mascara and the brand that it’s by.
The packaging is also slightly luxurious, which I have to say doesn’t really shock me, as this is something that I would expect for the price that it is.
To apply, this mascara goes onto the lashes very easily, very smoothly and very comfortably indeed.
In fact, I really like putting this mascara on in the morning!
With most mascara’s I often find myself catching my (finished) eyelid with the mascara applicator, and I’m sure anyone who has done this themselves would agree with me when I say that it’s the MOST infuriating thing!!!
AND it always seem to happen when I’m in a rush or don’t have a lot of time to get ready
HOWEVER I can tell you that this mascara doesn’t seem to be as bad… as the shorter brush doesn’t really over hang or spread out further than the shape of the eye. Although, I should definitely mention that I have caught myself a few times with this applicator in the past, so it certainly isn’t fool proof, it’s just a little easier to use I guess.
Overall, I would have to tell you that I really, really like this mascara because it applies easily and the brush applicator itself is very comfortable and very straightforward to use. I also really the like formula of this mascara too, as it isn’t dry in texture but then it isn’t overly ‘wet’ either, as wet mascaras are usually a nightmare to apply – as they smudge easier and they take longer to dry, meaning no sudden ‘blinking’ moments.
This mascara is one that I like to turn to for my everyday makeup, as it gives my lashes a really fluttery and lengthily appearance, although I wouldn’t say for me that this is mascara gives a dramatic enough look for a more special occasion.
Which mascara’s do you like to use, would you consider giving this one a try for yourself?
