Since Jellybluesblog’s last monthly favourites post (back in April of this year), I can’t say that I’ve been truly motivated to write another favourites post as such. With being someone who tries and tests out a lot of different products and types of makeup, all of the time, I guess it’s difficult to really define and pick out such a small collection of these products as favourites, especially consistently each and every month without being repetitive.
For those reasons alone, I decided to put the monthly favourite blog posts on hold for a short time or at least until I actually had an honest collection of goodies that I could confidently share with you all as favourite products of mine!
Within this post, I would like to share with you all a collection of makeup products that I’ve been loving lately, along with a couple of new makeup brushes and the odd fashion piece that I’ve totally been obsessed with lately too!
Makeup wise, I can happily report that I’ve been a little more out going lately when it comes to the brands of products that I use… because there was definitely once a time when I would only use a specific brand for a certain product – without giving any others a chance. Since then, I think I’ve become a little more experimental and open to the types of products that I use and the brands that they are by.
Lately, I’ve been totally obsessed with the Buxom Bold Gel Lipstick in the shade: Rebel Rose, as it has such a genuinely nice soft and smooth formula, which really does glide onto the lips beautifully. I’ve been pairing this lipstick with a soft, long-wearing lip pencil – by ones mostly by MAC Cosmetics although the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On lip pencils are pretty decent too. For me, I just love how comfortable this lipstick is and how soft but hydrated my lips can feel at the same time. It isn’t long wearing of course which can be a bit of a pain in the bum but with such a lovely creamy formula, I’m more than happy to keep this topped up throughout the day!
As for my brows, the only two products that I’ve been using lately are the Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow in the shade: 20 Light Brown and of course my trusty Benefit Gimme Brow in the shade: one. The Aqua Brow (Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector) by Make Up For Ever is absolutely amazing in my opinion – and the best of its kind by a long way. Over my time, I’ve tried and used a whole bunch of different brow gels and dipbrow pomades but nothing else compares to this as far as I am aware! This stuff is amazing. It has a soft gel like liquid formula, which is very pigmented indeed. What I love most about this product is that you only need the smallest dot EVER! Literally, I’ll squeeze the tiniest dot onto either the back of my hand or an acrylic plate and my brows will be finished in the quickest amount of time… I love it!
Recently, I’ve been absolutely adoring the combination of the TooFaced Hangover 3-in-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray with the Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer! Spraying just a few spritz of the TooFaced Hangover Primer before applying any other makeup onto my face seems to really enhance the dewiness of my skin and the dewiness of the appearance of my skin throughout the day, whilst wearing makeup. After priming and prepping my complexion ready for makeup, I’ve really been enjoying using the Tarte Marajuca Concealer, as it seems to really brighten the undereyes with its thick, creamy pigmented formula that also remarkably blends out amazingly well! With a light dusting of powder, this concealer sits in place well and doesn’t seem to budge which is pretty much ideal as far as I understand!
Last on the list in terms of makeup is the NARS Bord De Plage Highlighting and Bronzing Palette – purely for its genius combination of such an amazing collection of powdered products!
I mean, NARS couldn’t have picked any better even if they’d tried!
To apply these powders onto my skin, I’ve been loving the new Real Techniques PowderBleu Collection, and particularly the brushes B01 and B02, as these are the most perfect size brushes for me and the purpose that I need them for. B02 is the best brush for gently applying contour powders, bronzer or even highlighter and B01 is ideal for lightly dusting a setting powder or face powder over the entire face without disturbing any of your other makeup.
Before closing off this post entirely, I had to share with you all my latest and newest fashion obsession!
The Pandora Luminous Drops Stud Earrings.
I honestly can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am to have these earrings within my jewelry collection… after seeing the Dior Triables everywhere recently, I have been lusting over earrings like these more and more. Although, once discovering that Pandora sells drop studs that are very similar for a fraction of the price… I HAD TO GET THEM! For not only the reason being that I know my ears are able to wear Pandora jewelry!
I literally went to a Pandora store three days ago to pick these earrings up and I haven’t taken them out since they are comfortable and very beautiful indeed. I am very happy to own them and do not regret buying them in the slightest!
