Knowing what to wear around this particular time of the year can be tricky…
Does one choose to wear a coat or should they brave the Autumnal weather because it’s not quite Winter yet?!
When it comes to my wardrobe, I personally like to take my style – just like the weather, one day at a time.
Comfortable but cosy boots are slowly making a comeback I must say, but that doesn’t always mean that I know exactly what to pair them with. It’s the same with jackets. A thinner jacket – like what we’ve all been used to for the past couple of months is now just a little bit too inappropriate for the season… but is a chunky lined coat perhaps a step too far?!
This season it’s all about; off-shoulder attire, tailored shirts, ruffles, tones of burgundy, textures of velvet, plaid patterns, statement sleeves, snuggly knits, vintage floral prints and every now and then an intense pop of cherry red colouring!
With SO MANY different styles and trends currently surfacing, it can be difficult to know exactly what we should pair with what. With this in mind, I wanted to set myself the challenge of pairing together five different outfits that follow either a few or just simply one of this season’s current on-trend styles.
Please feel free to shop any of the looks that I have created, and let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
Outfit – One:

I am without a doubt head over heels in love with this outfit and there is NOT one thing that I would change about it even if I could!
The gorgeous delicately studded Dolce & Gabbana boots add just a touch of glamour to an otherwise pretty casual outfit, whilst also certainly rocking it up and making it just a tad edgier and cool. I have also added a layering piece option to this look, as a thin mesh crop top may look cool alone but not if you’re shivering cold, especially around this time of the year! Therefore, Lazy Oaf’s high neck cherry red jumper is the perfect option for this type of outfit. As it is going to give the outfit it’s pop of colour, whilst also following its edgy on-trend black theme!
Outfit – Two:
For this outfit, in particular, I wanted to concentrate on feminity but also class.
This is why I have paired a beautiful burgundy red ruffle themed blouse by the very affordable MissGuided with a stunning pair of textured but also patterned Givenchy tailored trousers in white. I wanted to combine both, texture with pattern – without the fear of two pieces clashing… which is why the accompanying accessories are rather simple but by all means classy.
I very excitedly found a beautiful pair of Giancarlo Paoli heels, designed in an almost swamp green? I feel these heels work well with this outfit, as the blouse shares a very similar colour palette by the leaves and foliage within the floral print. Together, I decided to place the classic envelope clutch with silver hardware, with this outfit, just to really put all emphasises on the floral prints and textures, whilst also following it’s classy and clean theme!
Outfit – Three:

The elegant lace mini dress by Temperley London is without a shadow of a doubt the main piece to this whole outfit. Paired with a few simple but cool accessories this outfit is one that anyone could certainly make their own…
When it came to piecing together this outfit, I wanted to keep the striking blue as the main pop of colour, as it is such a beautiful dress, that I didn’t want the gorgeous lace detailing to go under the radar even in the slightest. This is why I have paired the lace mini dress with a classic pair of pointy Jimmy Choo heels in black and a very cool but edgy leather jacket by All Saints!
Outfit – Four:

Having fun with Autumnal style, I decided to play with colours, textures but also practicality here within this outfit!
Pairing a beautiful brick red faux suede skirt like this with a cosy cropped chunky knit that ALSO has statement sleeves is EVERYTHING that this season is about. Come rain or come shine this outfit is going to look good, with a comfy pair of little-heeled boots, this outfit is going to look bang on-trend but most importantly feel comfy and secure.
I have also added a little layering piece option to this outfit, as Autumnal weather certainly isn’t the most reliable! I know, when creating this look, I didn’t want to pair a chunky coat or thick jacket, as the cosy Diesel knit is going to give you enough warmth I’m sure. Therefore, I have chosen a light but extremely cute little rain mac, just to keep one dry!
Outfit – Five:
Jeffrey Campbell’s edgy lace-up boots compliment ASOS’s faux suede high-waisted mini skirt in black perfectly well… some may even say that these two items were born to be worn together?! Paired with a soft, light denim jacket like this one by Free People, you’ve just taken a perhaps more evening appropriate outfit to one that you could even be worn during the day, to run a few errands in!
I am also delighted with the slightly sophisticated but oh so edgy Whistles bag that I have here within this look. The beautiful tote bag will enable practicality whilst also complimenting Free People’s cosy faux shearling lining in the dress down denim jacket perfectly.
Which is your favourite outfit?!
