I would love to say that I am currently sat with the utmost sophistication writing this review, whilst appearing glamorous just like those associated to Hollywood!! After all it’s what these liquid lipsticks by Charlotte Tilbury are all about… although, I would have to tell you that I am unfortunately, not. I am actually sat here – at 12:43 on a Saturday afternoon, still in my pyjamas and surrounded by things that need somewhat of a tidy.
So what’s new aye?!…
Whether brands are gearing up for the coming holidays or just feeling extra inspired at the moment, there seems to be quite a lot going on! From drugstore brands to the more luxurious, and not forgetting designer of course, I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t excited for all of the new product releases and revealings that are coming soon.
One release by Charlotte Tilbury that quickly caught my attention, was the new Hollywood Lips collection!
It’s actually a little funny truth be told because I’d spoken to someone over on my Instagram a little while ago about Charlotte Tilbury hopefully making a liquid lipstick one day, and would you believe it! Here they are.
The new Hollywood Lips collection by Charlotte Tilbury features 10 beautiful shades, ranging from a warm pink matte to a warm rusty rose. Each of the ten beautiful liquid lipsticks all have a rather dry matte formula, although the finish and consistency of each definitely differs slightly in my own personal opinion! The Hollywood Lips collection is said to deliver a fuller looking Hollywood pout with a simple velvety-soft formula, that also includes anti-ageing ingredients. The high impact colour of each shade is said to feel like second-skin on the lips, which if true, can only make these liquid lipsticks very special indeed!

In all honesty, I can’t say that I either love or hate these matte liquid lipsticks by Charlotte Tilbury. I know that I have discovered some issues with them along the way, but then I’ve also been pretty impressed by the colour pay off and Charlotte’s unique style of applicator too.
Each one of the Hollywood Lips that I’ve personally tried does have a rather dry formula in my opinion, which can feel quite tight on the lips at times, but also pretty uncomfortable too. I can’t say that I would choose to wear one of these matte liquid lipsticks throughout an entire day either – especially if I knew that I would be dashing here, there and everywhere – in and out of shops, perhaps in cold, windy weather and eating and drinking along the way – because, my lips would definitely look worse for wear by the end of the day but also feel incredibly sore and dry too!
The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips – liquid lipsticks have a whipped yet creamy formula also in my opinion, although they quickly dry down to a completely matte finish too! I have also experienced and found that the darker shades (from those that I own) all have a slightly thicker, over-whipped, possibly grainy formula, which is also more dry and matte in consistency compared to the lighter shades that I own. Whilst this doesn’t make a lot of sense as to why, I guess it is just unfortunately one of those things because they are stronger, deeper pigmented colours?!
No one can deny that the new Hollywood Lips by Charlotte Tilbury are pretty. They are packaged beautifully, the pigmentation and colour pay off from each shade is incredible and certainly worth looking into further! I only wish that these lipsticks were not so dry and matte in finish because my lips need rescuing after wearing one of these… I could also happily recommend the use of a lip gloss over the top of one of these, which isn’t a ‘me thing to do’ in the slightest!
