This is the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation. It isn’t a new product nor is it advertised as anything especially unique – although there are some pretty decent reviews out there! This foundation claims to appear like second-skin with a lovely medium coverage. They say that this foundation will appear natural-looking, as well as flawless but then, will also be moisturising and comfortable to wear!?
In all, I would have to tell you that I am very excited to see if this foundation lives up to all that it claims BECAUSE Make Up For Ever also say that this foundation has been specially formulated to appear invisible in 4K videoing (which may or may be handy to you) – whilst also blending seamlessly into the skin and concealing imperfections, this product states that it will unify your skins texture overall…
To be totally honest with you, I don’t really know how I feel about this product. It’s one of those foundations that I feel I need to use on a ‘good skin day’… when my skin can perhaps handle something slightly more fuller in-consistency but then, not necessarily a thicker formula! I feel as though you have to work this foundation into the skin slightly faster than normal too because the formula feels quite dry BUT then I just can’t say that this foundation is particularly drying on my skin?! It’s a difficult one to describe.
The Ultra HD Foundation by Make Up For Ever definitely has a medium consistency in my opinion, which must contribute to the fact that this will give you a medium coverage overall! It is lightweight in texture, somewhat dry in consistency but then also really easy to blend and build.
True to Make Up For Ever’s promises my skin’s texture is even, smooth, practically flawless yet also skin-like after applying this foundation with a dampened sponge. I have noticed that this foundation will oxidise slightly – to perhaps one shade darker – which isn’t at all a problem but something that you want to be aware of when picking out your shade! I must also tell you that this foundation can appear quite orange-based in flash photography (on me anyway) – and whether this is just ‘me’ or not, you know I couldn’t quite say for sure, although I did think it was a little odd when this foundation was supposed to have been formulated with the camera in mind!?
By the end of the day or after around 6 hours of wear, I can say that this foundation appears to have worn pretty well.
It has settled into those finer lines around my forehead and mettled slightly around my nose but then, that has to be expected, doesn’t it?! In all, I must tell you that I like this foundation. It isn’t the best foundation that I’ve ever tried nor is it one that I would unquestionably reach for on a special occasion… I guess this is a foundation that I like, I just don’t think it’s anything particularly special.
