Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation SPF 15 (Review on dry skin)

What could be more boujie, more extra than a Tom Ford foundation? With its slimline, sleek packaging the Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation with SPF 15 offers the complexion a natural-finish, long-wear and a humidity-resistant formula that hydrates and evens the skin tone, to create a flawless, supple and pore-less base. With a supposedly state-of-the-art formulation also, this Tom Ford foundation is said to help smooth and renew skin, diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, I really hope that this foundation will truly deliver what it claims. Offering a medium-to-full coverage too, with an SPF broad spectrum from UVA and UVB damage, I wouldn’t say that this is your average foundation at all.

Before I go on to tell you all about my experience of using this foundation, I would just like to mention that this product has been sat in my makeup storage for quite some time. Since picking up the shade: 1.5 Cream in the sale for a ridiculously good price, I have been waiting for tanned-skin and warm weather to accompany this product, as this definitely does not match my natural, fair skin tone as it is without the use of fake tan.

WOW! What can I say!? Who would have thought that I would actually be sat writing a review on this £66 foundation…, not me. With a frosted, plastic exterior, the feel of this foundation is luxurious, although a little disappointing considering that it is not glass?! Ideal for travel, you would have thought that Tom Ford could have splashed the cash just a little and packaged this in glass rather than a fancy plastic?! The whole look of this product, however, is very nice, with the easily-accessible twist-up lid, I really admire how this product works and also the style that Tom Ford has gone for!

With regards to the formula of this foundation, I must tell you that I am pleasantly surprised. Although you should expect an expensive brand like Tom Ford to deliver, it is always pleasant to see that you are actually getting what you pay for.

This foundation has a gorgeous light and creamy formulation which gives my complexion a really lovely soft but beautiful glowy and dewy appearance. My skin appears radiant yet natural, and just better overall in my opinion. With freckles, heavier blemishes and my skins natural texture still visible underneath, I can’t say that this foundation’s somewhat light coverage actually bothers me… From the gorgeous glow that this foundation gives my otherwise very dry and dull skin type, I just really like how this product looks!

One other thing that is definitely worth mentioning, however, is that this foundation doesn’t technically need setting, although without setting powder of some sort this foundation will not be transfer proof. Particularly after a number of hours of wear, you will see that this foundation has settled just a little and melted just a tad. I don’t actually mind the appearance of this foundation by the end of the day, as I know that I could easily just reapply a further layer if I needed to (without any problem). Although, if you are someone who prefers your foundation to stay in place ALL-DAY that I would advise you to set this foundation in place and tone down the radiance also.

Love, Jess
