You may have heard about the new loose setting powder by Hourglass?
With a supposedly ‘ultra-refined powdered formulation with light-reflecting particles,’ this product claims to blur imperfections with the help of its ‘innovative sifter designed dispenser’, which allows the perfect amount of product to be released.
Claiming to blur the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles for an airbrushed finish, this product is also described to be infused with diamond powder for an amazingly refined light refraction without any flashback! The relatively new Veil Translucent Setting Powder by Hourglass is said to set makeup for longer wear, whilst also having a translucent formula that is created without talc, for an invisible finish that is perfect for all skin tones.
So, what can I tell you about this extremely finely-milled, almost skin-toned loose setting powder?! Other than the fact that its packaging is absolutely BLOOMING stunning.
I love the ‘H’ designed sifter dispenser that this product has, as it provides a great deal of control when storing this product but also when opening and unscrewing the lid too. Although, this isn’t a powder that I would take travelling with me, as if tipped upside down a lot of powder can fall through and cause mayhem when actually opening this product later on.
The overall look of this product, however, is ideal. With a short, almost flat style of packaging, this is a very classy looking loose setting powder.
On a drier skin type like mine, I must tell you that I am pleasantly surprised by the formula of the Veil Translucent Setting Powder…
This product has an ultra-fine, silky smooth formula just as the description states, which literally dusts over the face effortlessly in my opinion. Providing a literal ‘veil’ to the finish of one’s skin, I must also tell you that I love how this product blurs any extreme texture on my face. From larger pores to those horrid frown lines on my forehead, I love to see how this powder transform the appearance of my skin, whilst also sitting really quite effortless and lightweight on my face too.
The Veil Translucent Setting Powder by Hourglass doesn’t mattify the skin, although it doesn’t brighten or illuminate the finish of my skin either. This product just kind of blurs the skin, leaving it soft in appearance and even in texture. What I love most about this product, however, is just how lightweight, silky and smooth the formulation is. It doesn’t sit heavy on the skin, accentuate a drier skin type just like mine OR make my makeup appear cakey or heavy…
This really is a winner.
As to this products ‘setting factor’ and ‘makeup pro-longing’ claim, I couldn’t say for sure as to what I really think… Although I do feel that the length of wear of one’s makeup ultimately depends on the types of products that you use, your skins natural type, finish and hydration level, as well as the environment that you are in. One thing I can say for sure, however, is that this product doesn’t seem to dry my skin out further throughout the day, ultimately meaning that my makeup consistently looks relatively fresh and dare I say, nice?!
