Skincare Haul + First Impressions

Jellybluesblog Daytox Skincare Haul3

What could be a better start to the New Year than trying out a bunch of new skincare?

As I am getting older I am really starting to appreciate good skincare and a reliable skincare routine! From around mid-December last year leading up to just a couple of weeks ago, I have been picking up and collecting new skincare products to try. Don't get me wrong I do already have a skincare routine of some sort, although I am always up for discovering new products and seeing what else is on the market.

Pixi
Rose Cream Cleanser

Anyone who has been an avid follower of Jellybluesblog would know that I am obsessed with Pixi Beauty. From their setting sprays to facial mists, I like their Pat Away Concealer, their Duo Highlighter is fab and in all fairness a lot of their skincare products too!

Leading up to Christmas I actually came across a delightful Pixi set in the Marks & Spencers beauty section. The set contained a 250ml bottle of my favourite Glow Tonic, a 135ml Rose Cream Cleanser and a full-sized pack of the Pixi Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths.

I have been using the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser practically every day since getting my hands on the discounted set! It has a smooth yet somewhat gritty formula that smells absolutely divine in my opinion. It removes makeup without irritating my skin but most importantly this product doesn't cause any issues for my eyes either! I just really like how this cream cleanser leaves my skin feeling really quite smooth, soft but more importantly very clean and makeup free.

Sunday Riley
JUNO Antioxidant + Superfood Face Oil

Anyone who knows anything about skincare will have heard of Sunday Riley. They are a brand that beauty bloggers and skincare junkies seem to drool over online, so I thought that it was about time that I invested in a product myself!

Thanks to a delightful promotion being held on the Cult Beauty website I managed to get my hands on the JUNO Face Oil by Sunday Riley at a discounted price... According to different reviews online this face oil is an amazing product for dry skin types and duller complexions, which just so happens to be me in a nutshell!

Unfortunately (and surprisingly) I am disappointed with this product. Whether I use too much or too little it seems to leave a strange texture on my skin? Based on past experiences, I cannot use this product first thing in the morning if I am planning on wearing foundation because it will affect the performance of the foundation with also the finish and appearance of it too.

In all, I could only say that the JUNO Face Oil does give a great glow to the skin, although the finish and feel of this product is not for me.

Jellybluesblog Skincare Haul Loreal Aloe Water

LÓréal
Hydra Genius Aloe Water For Dry & Sensitive Skin

"You know when you are casually walking through the beauty aisles in the supermarket and one of those discounted bright yellow tickets catches your eye?"
Well, this is how this product came into my life.

The LÓréal Hydra Genius Aloe Water For Dry & Sensitive Skin is actually one of the cheaper products in this haul yet it is one of my favourites!! I love the texture of this product - how it feels on my skin - how quickly this absorbs and also how refreshing yet smooth this feels too. I like to use this after cleansing and toning but also before applying a good layer of the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream. It is a great product to use before foundation but also a good'un for adding into your evening skincare routine as well!

Daytox
Cleansing Foam • Clay Mask • Eye Lift & Aqua Moisture

When a fabulous PR agency got in touch and asked if I would like to try a selection of products from the Daytox skincare line, you know that I literally leapt at the chance! Daytox skincare is a German based brand, although a selection of products are stocked at Waitrose. Since I was kindly gifted a mini skincare routine, I have been applying and using these products in sync, although you can just as easily add just one or two of these products into your existing skincare routine. You certainly don't have to fork out for the whole range all at once!

The Cleansing Foam is a lovely product to use on sensitive skin in my opinion. With the ingredients; BioDtox, Meadowfoam Oil and Almond Oil, I would say that my skin is left feeling very refreshed, calm but most importantly makeup free after applying a generous layer of this and then washing it off with warm water and my trusty Face Halo.

The Clay Mask is again a great product for a sensitive skin type in my opinion. As you apply the VERY smooth formula over the skin it does begin to dry down and tighten rather dramatically. After washing this off with again, warm water and a clean Face Halo, I must say that my skin does feel much smoother, a little more radiant but also my pores do feel slightly tighter and purified.

Together with the Eye Lift cream and the Aqua Moisture I must say that these four products have been working well for me so far. The lightweight and serum-like formula of the Eye Lift cream absorbs beautifully in my opinion whilst the Aqua Moisture feels so light and refreshing on the skin. These are all going to be heavenly products in the Summer months, I can feel it already!

Lano
ALL OVER *Everywhere Multi-Cream*

Ideal for dry and thirsty skin the All Over *Everywhere Multi-Cream* is said to deliver rich-hydration when your skin needs it most. I actually picked this up whilst browsing the beauty aisle in Waitrose, although I do know that this is sold online too!

To be completely transparent with you all I must say that I have only used this product a handful of times - for the times that I have used this though, I did really like it! It has a very thick and creamy formula in my opinion, which thankfully absorbs very quickly into the skin as you begin to work it in. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin as far as I am aware but you can certainly feel the texture of this product for a good couple of minutes. Again, I wouldn't say that the Lano All Over cream feels sticky or tacky, although it can be a little greasy at first. Similar to a lot of body moisturisers I suppose. As I have only used this product a few times I can't tell you that this works, although, so far, I can say that I am enjoying using this product!

Lanolips 101 Ointment Mult-Balm Pear & Lanolips Tinted Lip Balm SPF30

Okay, so not new products...
Any avid Jellybluesblog follower will know that I already use and adore the Original Lanolips 101 Ointment. Whilst browsing the Lano section in Waitrose, however, I couldn't help but take advantage of the current 3 for 2 deal by picking up and placing these in my trolley!

The Multi-Balm in Pear smells delightful in my opinion whilst the Tinted Lip Balm is a great product to use on the go for when you want just a subtle flush of colour on your lips with the added bonus of a lip balm consistency and texture!

I’m obsessed with the pixi glow tonic and everything that I’ve pretty much tried from pixi It’s so good. That L’Oreal Paris hydra genius serum also sounds so lovely. I loved their skin perfection serum back in the day before they discontinued.
