(Make-Up Look): Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation | Ft. UD Yellow Colour Correcting Fluid

We’ve all seen this on Instagram but only recently has this foundation been available to buy in the UK. Urban Decay is a VERY popular brand, with it also being one of my personal favourites! Their eyeshadow palettes are usually (hashtag) goals and their Naked Skin Concealor is an absolute holy grail product. In all, I’d say this foundation has a lot to live up to.

Within this post I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on this product, along with a little make-up look that I’ve put together…

Shade: 0.5

Not all that long ago, I purchased this foundation online at Debenhams Beauty – my also favourite beauty store. I chose the shade 0.5 which I believe is the lightest shade available and not surprisingly I find it to match my complexion beautifully.

Before applying this foundation I primed my skin with the Mister Radiant Primer by Givenchy and then gently swept an average amount of the Yellow Colour Correcting Fluid by Urban Decay under my eyes. The yellow colour correcting fluid supposedly conceals purple-hued dark circles, with it also brightening a duller complexion. After use, I can tell you that this colour corrector blends easily and beautifully, leaving a softened and lighter under eye area which is ideal for making you appear more fresh and awake.

(I know I have foundation stains in my hair – my hair was freshly dyed and very difficult to avoid).

After prepping and priming my face I went in with the All Nighter foundation – I’d actually tried this foundation a numerous of times before this look, so I already knew that the Artis Oval 8 brush, for me, is the best application method and tool. Before blending this foundation into my skin I always like to first spray my brush a couple of times with the UD All Nighter setting spray, as this will combine with the foundation itself and ensure a longer wear.

To blend, this foundation works very well. It’s formula is quite thick but with the right brush I wouldn’t say it really makes to much of a difference to the overall appearance and finish of the foundation. It does however feel quite tacky once you put it on, so a good setting powder is definitely handy! At first glance, I LOVE the coverage and appearance of this foundation. It doesn’t look heavy or even that un-natural, I mean, no one would be able to particularly tell that your wearing a full coverage foundation. As the day goes on however things take a little turn for the worse.. this foundation appears streaky, as it clings onto every dry patch and every large pore going! With that it also emphasises your pores and makes your skin appear very cakey and claggy in-between the eyebrows and around the upper lip, which during the day is not a good look at all.

Despite all of this, I still have to say that I like this foundation. The appearance is great – when it’s not clung to every pore going. I like how you can still see my freckles underneath but can alternatively build it up for a super flawless coverage. It’s a very comfortable and pretty foundation to wear. I guess I’d say that if you have oily skin then this is going to be much easier for you to use and wear but for those of you like me who do get dry skin.. perhaps it’ll be a better one to wear during the evening.

Thank you!! 🙂 I have dry skin too, I find if you apply a really hydrating moisturiser beforehand it works better but then I’d also say it’s a foundation more for oily skin! Aw thank you, glad you found this post helpful! 🙂 x
