As I’m sat here, looking at all of my favourite lippies and lip products, I can’t help but reflect on the gorgeous weather that we’ve seen over the last couple of weeks here in the UK.
It’s true I love the sunshine.. the heat, yes but perhaps not so much, as sometimes it can be a little overbearing and just a little bit suffocating too at times. Although I must say that the warm weather brings with it the opportunity to wear prettier summer dresses and much looser, more feminine clothing overall, which gives a nice break in between chunky scarfs, boots and snuggly wool jumpers, doesn’t it?!
With Summer fashion, of course comes makeup and what better time to really experiment with makeup in my opinion… as you can really step out of your comfort zone if you want to with brighter lip shades and more colourful and vibrant shadows too. Although, I must say that I’m more than happy with a good pink’y nude shade… but each to their own of course.

With all of this in mind,
I wanted to create an up-to-date blogpost, themed all around the lip products that I’m currently loving and would definitely recommend for this time of the year. I actually created a Summer themed lippie post last year, and a lot of you seemed to really enjoy it and find it useful, hence why I’m here again creating this post for you… because the industry definitely develops, as new products get introduced and created for us, and I’m definitely using a few different products now than I did then!
Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lip Colour
I definitely have to mention that this is one of the newer lipsticks that I own – as I not so long ago picked up quite a few different shades from this collection whilst in Boots – after seeing that they are relatively new too.
Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lip Colour – Desert
I think Desert is a really nice shade to wear around this time of the year, as it’s an almost beige’y toned nude, which has a slight coral undertone to it. The formula of this lipstick contributes to why I think that this is a nice lip product to wear around this time of the year too, as it feels very hydrating and almost moisturising on the lips, whilst also delivering a nice sheen of colour and finish. It isn’t the most long-lasting I grant you, so if your someone who doesn’t like to reapply a lipstick throughout the day then this may not be for you but if your someone who doesn’t mind, then I would definitely recommend checking these out, as there’s quite a few different shades available in this collection to choose from.
NARS Audacious Lipstick
A collection of my current favourite lippies would not be complete with a NARS Audacious one. If you’ve been a reader of my blog for a little while then you may already be aware of the fact that I have been a fan of this lipstick for a very long time. As they each have a really lovely formula, which applies beautifully onto the lips and lasts pretty well for a stick form of lipstick too in my opinion.
NARS Audacious Lipstick – Jane
The shade: Jane is a really lovely colour, as yes it is a red but it’s a gorgeous coral toned red, which just adds something quite sophisticated to any style of look. Not to mention the fact that a red lip is always going to glam up and almost mature any style of look to a point too.
Clinique by Crayola Chubby Stick
Would I have purchased the gorgeous set of Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Balm’s if they weren’t in collaboration with Crayola?! Probably not, as they probably wouldn’t have gained my attention any other way. Although, the Chubby Stick lip balms are actually a very good product in my opinion, as they have a beautiful moisturising and hydrating formula, which sort of feels like a mix between a gel and a balm.
Clinique by Crayola Chubby Stick – Wild Strawberry
Wild Strawberry is definitely one of my favourite shades out of the whole collection – which is definitely saying something, as I’m definitely more of a nude or mauve toned girl usually!
The shade of red that this lip product has is also perfect for me, as I definitely feel that it suits a lighter skin tone much more with the almost undertone of dark pink that this shade has. It’s pigmented too, which is an essential for me, as yes this may be a lip balm that has moisturising and hydrating properties but you also want to be able to wear this on a regular, day-to-day basis, don’t you?!
Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint
A liquid lipstick that isn’t the most accessible to us in the UK I know but if you wanted to treat yourself, then this is one that I would definitely recommend checking out, as the formula of these liquid lipsticks is really quite special in my opinion.
Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint – Bestie
The shade: bestie is a classic for me, as it goes and pairs with so many different styles of looks beautifully well. In fact, this is one of a few lippies that I own that I know I could wear for the majority of the year, making it a definite staple for me and holy grail product.
To describe the shade bestie, I could only say that it is the definition of the word nude in my opinion, although it has a slightly deeper tone to it, which really works well with naturally deeper coloured lips, which I definitely have also. The formula of this lipstick in-particular is again lovely, as it’s pigmented so you don’t have to apply a million dozen layers, which is always a good thing with any liquid matte lipstick, as yes they can make your lips feel and look dry. The shape and size of the doe-foot wand applicator that this product has is also very good, as it glides onto and around the lips effortlessly, which of course makes it a little easier to use than one of your standard liquid lipstick perhaps.
Rosie for Autograph Lipstick
I was going to feature the Tom Ford Lip Rouge Lipstick in the shade Pink Dusk here.. but I feel like I mention this lipstick far to often… and I couldn’t really mention it properly once again could I… even though I have just mentioned it
Rosie for Autograph Lipstick – Rose Lace
A good alternative to the Tom Ford lipstick (Pink Dusk) in my opinion is the Rosie for Autograph lipstick in the shade Rose Lace, although this lipstick is a little more beige toned than the pink in Tom Ford. The formula of this lipstick is however very similar to the Tom Ford Rouge, as they each have a very hydrating formula, that each give the lips a beautiful pigmented, sheen colour.
No, I couldn’t claim that Rosie for Autograph Rose Lace is a Tom Ford Pink Dusk dupe, as there are distinct differences…. BUT that doesn’t make Rosie for Autograph’s lipstick any less of a lovely product!
