From boxes of lipsticks to full eyeshadow collections, there seems to be a vault for anything nowadays! Over time, I know I’ve seen a makeup brush vault, lip liner ones, and even ‘one-off’ seasonal-themed full collections…
One vault that certainly caught my attention a month or so back was the Retro Luxe Vault by Makeup Revolution! Having never tried a Makeup Revolution liquid lipstick or liner before, I was pretty keen to try a few of the different formulas out for myself – which is why this vault made sense for me to purchase at the time.
The Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Vault contains five matte lip kits, two gloss lip kits, and finally three metallic lip kits!
A LIP CONTOUR KIT
Each of the ten, Lip Contour Kits included in this vault come with a lip pencil and the appropriate liquid lipstick.

THE LIQUID LIPSTICKS
The Matte Liquid Lipsticks within this vault, apply surprisingly well in my opinion. They are easy to work with and apply evenly to the lips, with a smooth, well-pigmented formula. After sitting on the lips for a good few seconds, I could confidently say that one of these liquid lipsticks would have dried down to the desired matte finish.
After a few hours of wear, it would be fair of me to say that the Matte Liquid Lipsticks by Makeup Revolution definitely feel a little drying on the lips BUT then I can’t say that this makes them particularly uncomfortable to wear either.
In comparison to the matte liquid lipsticks, I would have to say that these metallic ones give quite a sheer, transparent colour to the lips. They are pretty – as they give the lips a nice duo-chrome finish BUT then, at the same time, I can’t say that their formula is my favourite! I find it just a little bit too tacky for my liking, as I much prefer a liquid lipstick to dry down slightly and wear well on my lips throughout a typical day…
The Gloss Liquid Lipsticks by Makeup Revolution have a rather thick, yet creamy formula in my opinion, and this is something that I certainly didn’t expect.
When you see the word ‘gloss’, I guess you expect the formula to be thin, tacky and actually incredibly sheer but these are not. They are not sticky, tacky or uncomfortable in the slightest and leave the lips with a glossy BUT not shiny finish, which I really, really like!

Each liner (within this vault and by Makeup Revolution) is pretty similar in terms of formula, wear and application in my opinion.
They each have a very smooth, yet evenly pigmented formula – which applies LIKE A DREAM to the lips! I love how creamy and comfortable these are to wear, as you could happily wear just one of these lip liners alone, without even the use of a liquid lipstick over the top! They wear pretty well too in my opinion throughout a typical day – ALTHOUGH – I wouldn’t call them long-lasting in the slightest BUT then they never claim to be anyway?!
In all, I would have to say that I really like these lip liners by Makeup Revolution, and am certainly impressed with their quality, in comparison to their price!
Overall, I would have to say that I love how this Lip Kit Vault has been put together. Each Lip Kit by Makeup Revolution is neatly displayed but also really easily and effortlessly accessible. If you are in the market for trying an affordable yet good liquid lipstick or lip liner, then I would definitely recommend checking these lip kits out by Makeup Revolution!!
