A 2017 Yearly Round Up Of My Favourite Beauty Products

Can you believe 2017 is over?! It seems as though one minute we were all binge watching Halloween makeup tutorials online but then in the next, we were all celebrating the New Year and trying to reflect on the past twelve months as a whole.

With saying this, however, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you all, the products that I really fell in-love with using throughout 2017! They may not all be products that were released last year pacifically but never the less, these are the products that I have grown to absolutely adore using, and ones that I would, with a doubt in my mind, recommend for anyone to try out for themselves!

My 2017 Beauty Product Highlights

Blush – Charlotte Tilbury Cheek To Chic Blusher

With blusher now becoming even more popular – thanks to reliable fashion trends. It seemed only right to share with you all, one of my all-time favourite blushers at this moment in time.

The Cheek To Chic Blusher by Charlotte Tilbury is absolutely beautiful in my opinion, with the shade ‘Sex On Fire’ being a perfect essential for any pale skin tone gal, similar to mine! With the correct makeup brush in hand, this blusher adds just really pretty yet natural flush of colour to the cheeks, which appears even, smooth and just really beautiful indeed. I love it.

Facial Wipes – Johnson’s Makeup Be Gone, Moisturising Wipes

Majority of the time, I do indeed use a cleanser of some sort, which I also must admit is usually the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser.

For other times though, when I am feeling just a little lazier and want to remove my makeup with something a little more convenient and hassle free, then I use a face wipe.

My face wipe of choice for quite a few years now and not just throughout the year of 2017, are the Johnson’s Makeup Be Gone Moisturising Wipes, which are indeed for dry skin types.

These are soft wipes, which are smooth in texture and just perfectly saturated in my opinion. They remove makeup exquisitely and just leave the skin feeling a lot more refreshed and clean. One of the major downsides to face wipes is that they can burn and sting sensitive eyes, particuarly if they contain quite a high percentage of alcohol. These wipes, however, do not. I can rub one of these wipes over my eyes and even in my eye if need be, and these do not sting, burn or cause my eyes to water significantly.

Cleaner – Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

My cleanser of choice throughout 2017 was indeed the Cleanse & Polish, Hot Cloth Cleanser by Liz Earle.

This cream based cleanser is one that I did indeed discover last year, which perhaps fits well to the fact that I have only recently started to really look at and think about the care of my skin and with that the skincare that I do in fact use.

I like this cleanser in-particuarly as it removes any makeup that I am wearing well. With a comfortable, clean consistency, this cleanser does not irritate my skin, cause redness or more importantly, cause my skin to breakout.

Lip Care – Lanolips Original 101 Ointment

Since getting Invisalign’s throughout 2017, I must tell you that using a lip balm of some sort is more vital now than it has ever been before.

In comparison to a lip balm like Carmex, I feel as though the Lanolips 101 Ointment is a lot more industrial and I guess, ‘fit for purpose’. With it’s subtle pink packaging, this product may look like it isn’t all that special but believe me there is more to this than meets the eye!

It covers my lips with a gorgeous veil of a balm like substance, which isn’t sticky in consistency or texture but definitely has some sort of feeling with it.

With this in use and applied around two times a day, I must tell you that my lips have not suffered throughout the cold weather, as they have remained smooth, soft and plump – regardless of my Invisalign’s too.

Primer – Stila One Step Correct Primer

Over the past few years, this has been one of my all-time favourite primers to use and wear because it doesn’t react to my skin, irritate my complexion or, in fact, react badly when used in combination with many other products.

As a primer, I know that I can rely on this to soothe my skin and prep and prepare it for further makeup products, such as foundation. Another thing, that really allows this primer to stand out, however, is the fact that this will just ‘ever so slightly’ neutralise any redness within ones skin tone, which isn’t that big of a deal I know – I mean, that’s what foundation is for BUT never the less, I really enjoy using this product and seeing it transform my complexion to something a tiny bit better.

Mascara – Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

Thank goodness I bit the bullet and purchased this mascara. For so many months prior, all I had heard of how amazing this mascara truly is. Although, like an idiot, I ignored these amazing recommendations and decided to carry on without the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in hand.

Until one day.

When I did it.

I brought this mascara for myself at long last, and let me tell you now, that since that day, I have not looked back.

This is an amazing mascara.

Perfume – Juicy Couture ‘Viva La Juicy Rose’ Eau De Parfum

‘Without a doubt in my mind, this was my favourite scent to wear throughout 2017’ – as it probably will be one of absolute favourites throughout 2018 also!

I love the floral notes that this perfume has, with it also being just slightly sweet, I wouldn’t personally call this a sweet nor sickly scent either. In all, I would have to say that this is quite a ‘flirty’ perfume. It is fun but ‘grown-up’ and just really really special to use and wear in my opinion.

Lipstick – Buxom Cosmetics Bold Gel Lipstick

One product that I know I am absolutely over the moon for discovering in 2017, are the Bold Gel Lipsticks by Buxom Cosmetics.

Whether Buxom Cosmetics has been in the UK for quite some time, I don’t quite know. All I do know, is that a Buxom Cosmetics beauty counter has only recently arrived at the Debenhams in my local town.

Since purchasing the shade, ‘Rebel Rose’ quite a few months back, all I can honestly say is that I am hooked. These are beautiful lipsticks to not only apply but also wear, and since falling in-love with this one shade all those months back, I have revisited the counter quite a few times, and purchased quite a few more products, including more shades of this particular style of lipstick! I love them.

Highlight – Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer
SHADE: 002

This yearly favourites round up would NOT be complete without the appearance of this gorgeous, glowing disc of silvery goodness.

This absolutely STUNNING luminzer by Dior Beauty has got to be one of my favourite makeup pieces, that I ever purchased throughout 2017… Every time I use this, I feel special, and I know that every time I use this my highlighter game is also winning.
