Another day another product by Huda Beauty.

Here we have all of the Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Melted Shadows. There are five shades available so far, although more shades are set to be released very soon! Hence the name, each product features a creamy matte shade on one side with the corresponding creamy metallic on the other. Ideally allowing you to transform your everyday eye look in seconds.

The advised application method for this product is to first apply a "few" dabs of the matte shade just above your crease and then blend this out with either your finger or a brush. Once blended you can then "go to town" with the metallic by placing this on your lid where you see fit. From a half cut crease to a full cut crease this product is said to provide the perfect amount of precision thanks to the two different 'easy-to-use' applicators.

The concept of Huda Beauty's Matte & Metal Melted Shadows is genius. Having a singular product that provides a matte with the corresponding metallic is a game changer in my opinion! Ideally, you could take this one lightweight product away 'travelling' with you and save not only a lot of room in your makeup bag but also a lot of precious weight as well. In reality, however, I don't think that this product's matte formula has been perfected because it is not an easy shadow to work with in my opinion.

It is true that you don't need a vast amount of this product to achieve a full-coverage look. A few light-handed "dabs" of the matte shade will go a long way... it is just getting the matte shade to "go a long way" that is the problem. Both the matte and metallic formulas dry down extremely quickly and once they are dry they will not budge, not even with a little makeup remover on the end of a cotton bud! Applying a pressed eyeshadow over the top of this product is also quite a challenge in my experience. Whether it is the eye primer that I do (or do not) use OR just my skin type, in general, I do not know. All I do know is that pressed shadows do not work over this product for me. The shadow will appear very patchy and uneven plus very dry and dehydrated in texture, I am certainly not a fan of how this looks. To shed a little bit of light, however, I would have to say that both the Matte & Metal formulas are very pigmented, which is why you don't have to apply an awful amount of product in the first place because a little really can go a long way if you work this product right.

(Just to let you know the matte shades stain! The above picture was taken after trying to remove the swatches with makeup remover).

Going forward, I could only say that the metallic shades are all beautiful!!

They are vibrant, well pigmented but also perfect matches to their matte partner... I really admire the concept behind this product.

Out of the two finishes, I would have to say that the metallic are my favourite. Obviously, I have found issues with the matte formula but that doesn't mean that I hate this product. In fact, I actually quite like it. Despite the fast drying matte formula and the fact that the metallics can bunch up a little as they dry, you can definitely still achieve a very beautiful eye look with this product. Whether you use just one of the duos or a combination of a few, I really like the "Instagram-glam meets real-life" style that this product brings with it. If you did want to avoid the metallic shades from bunching up, however, I can tell you that I have been pressing these onto the lid with my finger and this has been helping me out a lot, although the look is much more "blown out", which is something that you may want to bare in mind.

Overall, I could only tell you that this product does have its faults. I am not a huge fan of the matte formula, although "if I had to" I could make this product work. The metallics, however, are ALL really beautiful! I love how vibrant yet wearable these shades are, especially as they are all super flattering on the eyes as well.

Wow, these are all stunning. I don’t think I’d get much use out of the pink and the other bold colours as I’m only ever confident enough to wear neutral tones on my lips, but they’re still all so beautiful!

You can create many different eye looks with these, although I can see what you mean ???? The red is very vibrant for an everyday eye look!! (I need to add an eye look picture to this post) OX
