It's a cold chilly day. Warm snuggly clothing has outed fashion on this occasion, as tights are now being worn as a layering piece to keep our legs and tummy's warm. When the weather outside is as cold as it is, "who can really be bothered to keep up appearances because I know I can't?"
Forget the fact that dribbly noses cause foundation mishaps and dry, sore skin, we are probably all suffering with dry, chapped lips, and just drier, flakier skin in general thanks to the cold weater at the moment. Since a face full of makeup has, therefore, been one of the last things on my to-do list lately, I felt like I HAD to share a product that I have been reaching for endlessly over the past few weeks! It is the easiest, most luxurious product to use - perfect for those days when you want to wear makeup but you still want your skin to breathe comfortably.
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit - Unlocked Palette features six (fairly-sized) pressed powders. From two finishing powders to a bronzer, there are two blushes in this palette as well as a gorgeous strobe powder as well.
Continuing Hourglass's iconic name, the Ambient Lighting Edit - Unlocked Palette has a collection of divine formulas in my opinion. They are subtle yet softly pigmented and buildable. I would not say that you could create anything dramatic or intense with an Hourglass powder, although - to be fair - that isn't what Hourglass is about! Hourglass is all about enhancing natural beauty.
Each of the six powders that are in this palette have a very smooth and fine formula in my opinion. They are lightweight in texture, although very buttery and creamy to the touch. I really like how velvety these powders feel. They add a beautiful natural veil to the complexion, which softly blurs larger pores and fine lines rather quite well. In fact, I really like how "baby soft" my skin looks whilst wearing a combination of these powders - especially if I am having a good skin day too! You can achieve a little structure with the bronzer and get a nice flush of colour with a combination of the two blushes. The real star of the show, however, HAS to be the strobe powder because "it is" delicious. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders do not just sit on the skin, they become at one with the skin, and this is why I have really been enjoying reaching for this palette. When skin isn't as hydrated and plump as usual, I feel that lighter, more comfortable makeup is essential! Although let's be fair I will probably be reaching for this palette all year round!
